Cleo.mb-internal.com

Recommended Posts

For the past week or so my router is blocking sending data from my LAN to the following url, cleo.mb-internal.com.  The attempts to send are happening throughout the day when online.  Cannot find any info on this site and wondering if related to Malwarebytes because of the "mb" in the url.  Thank you for your assistance.

I think its related to having a proxy type software perhaps? Have you used a proxy lately? The URL is not Malwarebytes related tho

This URL is used by our service to verify the status of some web based functionality we have. It's checking for the existence of the purchase page, and should only happen once a day, or when you start Malwarebytes.

Thank you Devin for the response.  Has this been a recent script added by Malwarebytes, as I have only seen it for just over a week? Also, it is happening several times a day when online, since my router is blocking it.

It is recent in the newer versions of Malwarebytes. As to checking multiple times a day, I'll need to follow up with our engineers on that

Sorry for the wrong info. That was google coming up with practically nothing in the results, except for one scenario.

I also see this in the (new/lat)est free version in my decade old, updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC from mbamtray.exe. What is it?  Can we safely block it?

Program version 3.8.3 was just released.

mbmtray.exe is v3.1.0.1838  Is not what you are looking for for being up to date purposes.

I would not block any connections coming from the Malwarebytes program. I misread your post, I thought you were talking about the program wanting an update.
