Malwarebytes freezes during Quick Scan

I was recently infected with Windows Anti Virus 2009. I have killed all the processes such as svchast.exe and windowantivirus.exe as recommended prior to running Malwarebytes. During the Quick scan the program continues to crash while scanning my Windows/system32/NTDOS.SYS or NTIO.SYS system files. Ive never had this issue with malwarebytes. I Uninstalled and reinstalled MalwareBytes Im lost on what to do next please help.....

when the infection started

what you did then

what you have done recently as regards the rogue malware.

Tell us if you have an up-to-date & active antivirus program.
