Best thing to do is disable your current drive when doing such things to prevent that. There are tools to help hide partitions from Windows but not much you can do about it now after the fact except clean up.

what things can i do to disable it for future purposes? someone told me to unplug the hardrive but thats too much since its a internal hard drive whats a more convenient approach

You basically only disconnect it once when you build the OS. Then AFTER you've installed Windows you connect it again and partition how you want to use it.

If you pay attention to which device is which during the initial setup you could leave them both connected and just make sure you set the correct drive, but if you're not careful it can become the D: drive instead of C: so that's why its best to disconnect unless you know what you're doing.
