PEDRO2050 #1 Posted April 18, 2018 Greetings, I'm having a problem with my malwarebytes, when i try to run the program, a window appear saying "Unable to start" and "Unable to connect the service". When i go to "services.msc" and try to find the service "Malwarebytes Service", it doesn't exist. I've tried to run the tool "mb-clean" and install and uninstall in safe mode. Nothing solves my problem. I'll appreciate all the help you can provide me. mb-check-results.zip Addition.txt FRST.txt

exile360 #3 Posted April 18, 2018 (edited) Greetings, Please click on START and select Run and enter the following in the Run dialog box and then press Enter: services.msc In the Services window, scroll down the list until you find Windows Management Instrumentation and if found, double-click on it and make sure it is set to Startup type: Automatic, and if not, then change it to Automatic via the provided drop-down menu and then click Apply then click on the Start button in the dialog to start the service. If that worked, try running Malwarebytes again to see if it now works as it should. If that did not resolve the issue and Windows Management Instrumentation was not listed or would not start, then please do the following: Tweaking.com Windows Repair All-in-One Download Tweaking.com Windows Repair from here and install it or if you would prefer, you may instead download and extract the portable version from here Once installed or extracted, launch Repair_Windows.exe Click on the Repairs - Main tab Click on the Open Repairs button Once it displays the list of repairs, click the checkbox next to All Repairs so that everything listed is UNCHECKED Now, click the checkbox next to Repair WMI so that it is checked Click on the Start Repairs button at the bottom Once it completes, allow it to restart your system Once that's done, see if Malwarebytes now works properly. If that did not help or WMI was already running/working, then please proceed with the following instructions: Please try running the special build of Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit by following the instructions on this page to see if that helps. If the issues persist or you believe the machine might be infected please read and follow the instructions in this topic and then create a new thread in the malware removal area containing the requested logs and information by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you directly when one becomes available. PEDRO2050 #4 Posted April 30, 2018 Thank you for the quick response Exile360, Sadly none of the steps above solved my problem. After trying all the solutions you gave me, i uninstalled mbar 3.4.5.x and installed version 2.2.1.1043. It gave me an error during installation (runtime error 0x5), but surprisingly after the installation, malwarebytes initiated. i executed a verification and no threats were found. The service "Malwarebytes Service" keeps not showing up on Services.msc, so I think the problem may be on the Windows O.S. Anyway, thank you very much for your help. exile360 #5 Posted April 30, 2018 Please try the following: Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool Accept the EULA and click Advanced Options on the main page (not Get Started) Click the Clean button, and allow it to restart your system and then reinstall Malwarebytes, either by allowing the tool to do so when it offers to on restart, or by downloading and installing the latest version from here Once that's done and you have the latest version of Malwarebytes 3 installed again, if it still isn't working then please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool again as in the above instructions, except this time instead of clicking on Clean, click Gather Logs and then attach the ZIP file it creates on your desktop to your next reply.
