Exclusions

Sorry I’m a day late in reporting this however I did use the app feedback.

I reported this last night after updating from version 1.0.8 to 1.0.9.

I installed the latest version 1.0.9. In the previous version 1.0.8 I had whitelisted http://iptest.malwarebytes.com/

 in exclusion.

I noticed that the site was not listed in the new beta after updating to 1.0.9. I was able to go there but it was not listed in the settings. I’m just guessing that it remembered the settings from version 1.0.8.  So I added the link to the settings and went to the url and then I deleted the link. I had to clear the cache before it blocked the site. Just thought I would let you know what happened after I updated to 1.0.9.

I'm not seeing a problem with setting exclusions in 1.0.13, but it's possible there's an issue with the settings carried over from the very early betas. I'd recommend deleting the app, then reinstall through TestFlight and see if you can properly set an exclusion on that site again.

Just to clarify I had issues that I stated in the first post of this thread and after that when version 1.0.12 came out I was able to copy and paste http://iptest.malwarebytes.com and successfully had no issues. It was not until I updated to version 1.0.13 that I was not able to whitelist Malwarebytes manually by copying and pasting the iptest website.

Also I followed your instructions and deleted Malwarebytes and redownloaded version 1.0.13 through TestPilot and came up with the same issues. I just cannot add Malwarebytes iptest site manually by copy and paste method but can whitelist when I click on exclusion while at Malwarebytes iptest site.

Ahh, I think I see the problem. If you enter a URL - either via paste or manual entry - with the "http://" or "https://", it doesn't work. That's definitely a bug, and we'll add that to our backlog.

However, note that you should never need to copy and paste a URL like this. If you visit a site and find that it's blocked, you simply tap the link on the block page to add it to exclusions (or the allow list, once the updated block page is in place). That will let you send the address straight to the Malwarebytes app without any fuss.

Okay thank you treed!

In my last post I was hoping that it would explain things alot better. I was using copy and paste method and yes I also stated that I had no problem when whitelisting to add exclusions while on the test site.

Strange though how version 1.0.12 allowed me to copy and paste with no issues. I have to admit I was totally stumped.

I glad you understood what was taken place and I thank you for your help and patience with me. ?
