Hey i have recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and as a habit i have been always using USB Tethering to access Data! So i have encountered this problem on windows 8. The problem is that whenever i use USB Tethering or I turn on USB Tethering i actually get fast internet but after surfing for time or using access DATA in few seconds i get a exclamation mark on the Network Signal which actually says the name of the network and below there is a caption named LIMITED   . My Mobile internet is turned on and the error is as said! I am frustrated because of this I am not able to download files from the internet and actually surf smoothly! So please help ma and if you need further details please reply me i will fill your needs!

PS: I use wifi in my mobile and connect it through USB to my PC !

     : I don't use WiFi because i don't have a WiFi adapter !

: I use my neighbor's WiFi so i don't have access to the LAN

: I am a school boy and i love to CODE!

: I have also tried updating t Remote NDIS driver by going to Device manager and it works to just  enable the USB Tethering again but it gets same error even after using lot of data in seconds.

: I also try removing the cable from my mobile and plugging it again and it works but after some usage of data it gets the same error.

THANKS,

It sounds to me that you may have an 'adult content' filter on your phones data connection, most mobile providers have this as default now.
(Or your parents may have specifically requested/installed a stricter setting).

This may/will show as a limited connection, especially if you try to access sites with an adult rating.
(It's not just porn sites that have an adult rating, other content may warrant one).

You need to contact the provider and prove that you are over 18 (21 in some countries) to get the filter lifted.

If that is not the problem then:
Have you set the tethered network as metered, so restricting data downloads?
Are you hitting your phone contract data limit?
Also check if there is a seperate setting limiting the size of files that you can download. (Either on your phone itself or at your provider).

I don't think it's about adult sites or anything because I am using my neighbours wifi and go check their IP address every day (192.168.0.1) and I don't find anything over there!

You say above that you are tethering through your mobile.

You say that you don't have a wifi adapter (whatever you actually mean by that).

You cannot connect a phone to wifi and tether through it.

You can connect a phone to wifi and use the wifi on the phone.

Or

You can connect the phone to a 3G/4G signal and tether a computer to it.

I suspect that you are thinking that you are using your neighbours wifi through your phone to connect your computer to the web.

It does not work like that, as soon as you tether the phone it connects to the 3G/4G instead of the wifi.

You should find that you can access those sites on your phone when not tethered (because your using the neighbours wifi), but not on your computer when you are tethered (because you are using the 3G/4G from your phones service provider).

Ya bro I have got a perfect solution! I am going to buy a USB wifi adapter today and I just wanted to ask whether it has any system requirements or it just runs in any system?

You'll have to check the box the hardware comes in or the hardware manufacturer's website, but assuming it isn't an ancient wireless card, it should work fine with Windows 8.1 since driver compatibility is pretty good with any version of Windows 7 and above.

The only recommendation I might make is to try to JUST install the driver, none of the additional connection management software/tools that might come with the wifi adapter/card because generally speaking, Windows handles network connection and wireless network management better than most third party tools (probably because it's tied directly into the network stack and OS core, so everything tends to be synced quite nicely and perfectly compatible).

But actually my PC is very old! It had windows XP 7days ago and I made a bootable USB and I installed Windows 8.1 do you think it is compatible?

Yep, it should be.  Most of the time the main issue is the OS, not the hardware so if your system is capable of running Windows 8, then it should be capable of using a USB device designed for that OS.  That said, the only other caveat might be if it requires a specific USB connection type, such as USB 2.0.  So check your USB ports to make sure you know what type they are (probably 1.1 or 2.0, but hopefully 2.0) and make sure the USB device you get is compatible with that standard (it will say on the box in its requirements).

You may be able to find the info on your ports by running msinfo32 or checking your Device Manager.  It hopefully lists the port type in the device/driver's description.  If not, then you might need some third party tool to do so or to check on your computer manufacturer's website.

That sounds like a solution if you dont have a build in wifi card and want to use the neighbours wifi.
You do have their permission and have not just hacked into it?

(At home I use the wifi from the pub/bar next door, with their permission, and tether to 3G+ if wifi is not available for some reason).

I had assumed you had an older machine if it didn't have a wifi card built in, but if it is running Win 8.1 OK, and you could tether through your phone through USB, then a wifi dongle should work fine.

They're cheap enough these days but spend a bit extra for a good make if you can afford it. I prefer Netgear for wifi accessories, here a few of their wifi adaptors/dongles.

Ah, that well known manufacturer $3.com

PS. Your sucess suggests that it was the adult content filters on your phone service that was blocking access to those websites.

Does your mom know that you have now got round them?

Remember to delete your browsing history.

Bro I am a student

Probably a language usage missunderstanding.

Over here a 'school boy' refers to a young lad aged 16 or under, a 'Student' is someone in further education, usually over 17 years old.

If you have doubts about any file, programme, or URL you can check it out on virustotal to see what all the major antimalware/antivirus providers think about it.

If they haven't come across it before, or if you want an up to the minute check, then they will rescan it for you.

I'm not familiar with Django but it looks legit.

However if you want to learn then aren't you better off learning the basics yourself, and then using productivity tools once you heve grasped those?

You can use a calculator without knowing maths, but it's better if you learn the maths first.
