Install problem cannot use port 443

Trying to install management console on server SBS 2011, message reads port 443 is being used by another service, do I find a free port and use it ??

Any help would be good.

Hello @BruceT

That is correct, you can just put in an open port and use that.  Just make sure to remember the port in the event you need to make changes in the future.  You can also use the Server Configuration utility which will show you, and allow you to modify the Server Address, Client Communication Port, as well as the Server Administration port (443 being the default)

When I encounter this with customers who already have 443 in use by another application, I have them change the port to 9443. Basically, I just add an extra number ahead of 443, so you remember that it is supposed to be an https secure port channel.
