Does Malwarebytes detect/remove keyloggers?

Recommended Posts

Yes, according to the web site "Prevents Mac virus, spyware, and malware infections", although there aren't very many Mac versions that are installed by malware. Most are of the commercial variety and may show up as spyware PUPs.

Thanks alvarnell. So if I have installed software that has PUPs with it, I may have inadvertently installed a keylogger? I guess the only way to check that is to look at Activity Monitor to see if something untoward is running? How else would I check?

What, if anything did Malwarebytes find?

As an example, if you installed parental guidance software, it might be identified as a PUP and would probably include a keylogger as part of the software package.

If you had somehow installed a keylogger that was malicious, then it would most probably be identified as spyware.
