Nate-Dogg Posted March 26, 2018 ID:1227251 Share Posted March 26, 2018 (edited) Hello. I have just upgraded (regrettably) to MWBAM 3.4.4. Since upgraded my scans now notify me once they have complete, how do I disable scan notifications (with no threats found) but still receive notifications if a threat is found or any other notification - such as notifications if real-time scanning fails to start ect.. (I don't know if real time protections failing to start fall under the "Show notifications when real time protection settings are turned off", but even still I want threat notifications.) I'm not really sure how we're here, but it's 2018 and we can't customise notifications? I'm a gamer, these pop-ups mid game are annoying. The notification about a software update bullied me into updating to stop the notification (I don't like updating straight after new versions are published due to bugs.) - Yes, I know I could disable auto-update alerts, but it shouldn't prompt again until I restart my PC. Many thanks. Edited March 26, 2018 by Nate-Dogg

Solution exile360 Posted March 26, 2018 Solution ID:1227254 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Greetings, Unfortunately short of disabling notifications in Malwarebytes, there is currently no way to disable those individual notifications after scans etc. Eventually they do intend to offer more granular control over individual types of notifications, but for the time being we just have to live with them or disable them completely. My personal recommendation in your case would be to just disable notifications when gaming that way you aren't interrupted. Once you're done with your gaming session, you can open Malwarebytes and check your Dashboard and Reports tabs to see if anything critical is going on or has been detected while you were gaming (you can sort the items in the Reports tab by Date and Time starting with the most recent by clicking on that column at the top twice in the list of reports/logs). Nate-Dogg Posted March 26, 2018 Author ID:1227259 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Thanks for the reply, exile. Yeah that's pretty much I have had to do for the time being, I've become so accustom to Malwarebytes working in the background that I'll probably forget to check the reports - so it might just be a once a week check. Malwarebytes should quarantine anything it detects immediately, at least what I can see from the settings. I'm just testing now, but I just manually ran a scan with the notifications off, toggled back to a game of Rocket League and the complete notification appeared again. Nate-Dogg Posted March 26, 2018 Author ID:1227264 Share Posted March 26, 2018 (edited) Yep, notifications are still appearing when the setting is off. Edited March 26, 2018 by Nate-Dogg

peterGem Posted March 27, 2018 ID:1227560 Share Posted March 27, 2018 I clicked on a Malwarebytes Free trial update and have been getting pop ups every 5 seconds - day and night. Nothing I do stops this - all the "controls panel" buttons are fake - turn then "off" and ... nothing. It says I have "14 days 'free' trial" - TWO WEEKS of 20% of my screen taken up with pop-ups (it says "website blocked" - yeah, right). If there is ever was a program that generated such trouble, I don't know how. If ever there was a program that I would trash everywhere I post, this is it. When the "free trial" ends (I worry it will never go away), I will take Malware completely off my computer. I may have to pay someone to take it off! What moron in Malware marketing thought this was a good idea?
dcollins Posted March 27, 2018 ID:1227565 Share Posted March 27, 2018 @peterGem You can disable the trial right now if you'd like by going to Settings -> Account Details and clicking the Deactivate button near the bottom. That being said, please note that attacks on anyone (Malwarebytes staff, other forums members, etc) is not tolerated here. So while I understand things can be frustrating when they don't work as one would expect, please make sure we're not reverting to name calling.
