Pick_One Posted August 24, 2009 ID:114282 Share Posted August 24, 2009 While attempting to log in to my Secured Email Site: inbox.com, Malwarebytes IP protection blocked the site. I have been using this email site for four years with no problems. I logged on to the site earlier today without problem, but now I'm blocked from getting my email. Please help!!! YoKenny1 Posted August 24, 2009 ID:114319 Share Posted August 24, 2009 Have BroadbandONE, Inc. remove their 20 malware sites they host:http://hosts-file.net/?s=64.135.77.80&view=matches
Pick_One Posted August 25, 2009 Author ID:114419 Share Posted August 25, 2009 So, because BroadbandONE, Inc. hosts 20 malware sites the site I access not being one of them I'm shut out of my email service... This does not seem right - Blocking an entire range of IP addresses because some of them are hosts to malware seems over-kill. Perhaps punishing BroadbandOne, Inc. is justifiable from a certain perspective, but blocking me from my email which I have used for four years is a bit much. Is there no way malwarebytes can unblock one amongst the many?

We're working on this option to whitelist or add exclusions in upcoming version
MysteryFCM Posted August 25, 2009 ID:114551 Share Posted August 25, 2009 64.135.77.80 no longer appears to contain malicious content from what I can find, so it will be removed.
Pick_One Posted August 25, 2009 Author ID:114888 Share Posted August 25, 2009 I appreciate that Malwarebytes will now remove my email site from its blacklisted IP addresses. However, is there a time-frame when this might happen? I realize that I can disable IP protection when I want to access my email, but this is an inconvenient method. I like the new IP protection mode in Malwarebytes but constantly manipulating check marks can get confusing; should one forget...
MysteryFCM Posted August 25, 2009 ID:114916 Share Posted August 25, 2009 The update should be out within an hour or two.
Pick_One Posted August 27, 2009 Author ID:115464 Share Posted August 27, 2009 I'm waiting, its been many times the hour or two suggested for an update to resolve my problem. There have been some ten updates during the elapsed time and my email IP address is still blocked; do I need to wait until the proposed "option to whitelist or add exclusions in upcoming version" before a fix to this problem is resolved? MysteryFCM Posted August 27, 2009 ID:115470 Share Posted August 27, 2009 This IP was removed a few updates ago. Please check you've got the latest DB update and if necessary, have restarted your computer.
Pick_One Posted August 27, 2009 Author ID:115478 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Yes I have the latest update. And yes I restarted my computer after your suggestion. And yes I'm now able to access my email with IP Protection enabled. However, is a usual requirement to reboot ones computer to make an update active? In any event my thanks for your efforts in this matter:) Malwarebrtes Rocks
MysteryFCM Posted August 27, 2009 ID:115481 Share Posted August 27, 2009 No problem When DNS caching is enabled, a reboot may be required, yes.
