Kalrand Posted February 21, 2018 ID:1218076 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Has anyone seen extra traffic on a WSUS server with MEP installed?
vbarytskyy Posted February 22, 2018 ID:1218549 Share Posted February 22, 2018 @Kalrand There can be a slight increase in traffic due to monitoring of update distribution. I would suggest to add the following exclusions to help things process a bit faster. hard_drive:\MSSQL$WSUS hard_drive:\WSUS Use letter where you installed the WSUS server in place of "hard_drive"
Kalrand Posted February 22, 2018 Author ID:1218555 Share Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) Thank you for the reply. We've been attempting to track down the culprit of some increased traffic from our WSUS 6.3 server and the clients. It did have MEP installed but we removed it as a test of elimination to find the cause, which it's removal did not affect the issue in anyway. At this point the issue is certainly somewhere else and not MEP. Most factors point to WSUS 6.3 itself and in possible combination with last patch Tuesday (week of 2/13).
