Repetitive IP-protection warnings

Recommended Posts

Hi,

First let me thank you all for the opportunities this forum offers! <_<

Now for my problem. Since about an hour or three MB warns me about every 10 minutes about some prevented infection. I've attached a picture of the message. It can't be any good, but scanning with MB doesn't yield any results and my AV-software hasn't found anything either.

So I thought I'd give posting a try.

Well, after scanning and scanning and scanning and a restart of my PC, the warnings have stopped and no infections are recorded in the IP-protection logs. Seems it isn't very acute anymore, but if someone has any ideas as to why they kept coming, I'd love to know.

There is no actual 'infection' and you have not been attacked or targeted. We're working on changing the message in the next version to avoid confusion. The alert indicates that an IP was prevented from loading onto your system. Some sites are cropping up as false\positives' due to a bug in the way XP converts the IPs. A new version to correct this will be out within a week or so.

Please see the link below for more information:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...t=0#entry107310

If you feel an IP is incorrectly categorized as malicious, please post in our False Positives forum as helpdesk cannot assist with any of those:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=42

Moving this topic to 'General' Malwarebytes forum.
