Name Not Avaiable In Volume Mixer

Recommended Posts

A few days ago I noticed an application in my volume mixer titled "Name Not Available". I did some research and got results ranging from there's nothing wrong to it being adware or a virus. The application does not make any sound or seem to hinder my computer in any way. I realize that this problem has been seen here before and usually goes unresolved. I've run full scans of Malware Bytes, my antivirus, and ADWCleaner, since that seemed to be a common solution I came across. All three came back negative, so I'm fairly certain it's nothing serious, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Thank you for your time.

I haven't noticed anything odd or erratic recently, no.

As for the crashes, the most recent ones were a few weeks ago. I was watching Youtube and my computer suddenly froze up for a few seconds and then restarted. It happened twice, about a week apart, and hasn't happened since.

Unless you have a specific issue i do not believe you need any assistance, your posted logs are clear of malware/infection...

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

Or use the following if first link is down:

"Delfix link mirror"

If your security program alerts to Delfix either, accept the alert or turn your security off.

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following item is the only one checked:

  • Remove disinfection tools (FRST) <----- this will remove tools we have used and itself.

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Any remnant files/logs from tools we have used can be deleted…
