Hi guys,

Seriously, what's the problem with MBAM? Besides having issues on activating the real-time protection, I'm having a problem with this memory sucker (consuming like 13gb lol)

Version: 3.3.1.2183

Component pack: 1.0.262

Update pack: 1.

Rig: Win10 x64 / 16gb ddr4

Is there anything that I can do, instead of uninstall this thing (that I'm paying for) and waiting for a fix? Is someone having the same issue?

Same here. 16 GB RAM Core i7 system with SSD ... working fine until past hour. First notice that MBAM protections not all on and could not get them to get past 'starting', things got slow, ffox started crashing, eventually graphics driver gave up the ghost, I restarted my system (Win10Pro recently got Fall Creators Update installed about 3 days ago), upon restart when mbam tray showed up it once again said web protections off (I left alone for moment), over next 15 minutes things got worse and worse. Process Explorer showed system commit around 13 GB and physical memory use around 11 GB - never before seen that (certainly not after only 15-20 min). Did sort in Process Explorer on Working Set and MBAMService was at that point nearing 12 GB. Shortly after had to restart. This time opened process explorer at start and watch MBAMService.exe goble up private bytes steadily. I quit malwarebytes before it got to consuming 4 GB. Now system running fine but no MBAM running.

Customer just called me, system crashing 'no memory' or out of memory.

I'm having the same problem. After today's update it's got a huge memory leak and can't seem to turn on its Web Protection. I don't know what the developers did, but if they don't fix this nonsense fast it's going to cause a lot of problems.

Yes! Started about an hour ago. Must be a bad update. MBAM quickly gobbled up all memory (and turned off real-time protection). The only choice right now is to uninstall it. Hopefully, the MBAM folks will fix it soon. Regards, Joe

Thanks, guys.

I was worried thinking that I got some serious sh*t in my pc.

Hope the team fix this asap. I had to uninstall, because everytime that I finish the mbam task, it keeps coming back lol

Same issue on 2 systems. Both unusable with the service running.
Good job on the update...

The MBAM service on my desktop is using 30% CPU and almost 5.5GB Memory.
On my laptop the CPU % is currently very low but using 9.5GB Memory.

The web protection turned itself off and I'm getting errors that the license server cannot be contacted.

Same thing happening to me.  The system slows down as the memory slowly disappears into the MBAMService.exe process.  When that process crosses 4 GB a message appeared telling me that Read-Time Protection was off asking if I wanted to turn it back on again.  A few minutes later Windows warned me that my system was low on memory.  I tried to kill the MB service, but received protection errors.  I finally had to hit the reset button to get the system to restart.  The same thing happened again two more times, so I finally de-installed MalwareBytes using Windows safe mode.

I had to disable malwarebytes in order for my PC (windows 7 pro) to be usable at all.

In order to do that, I did the following (not all steps may be needed, this is just a quick list of what I did):
1. Quit mwb from the taskbar
2. Go to "Services", and set the "Startup Type" for "Malwarebytes Service" to "disabled".
3. Restart

Thankfully, this seems to have stopped the runaway.

I hope that Malwarebytes (the company) is as good at notifying me when this issue is resolved as they are at spamming me while everything is working fine.

I'm disappointed that their "support" site is down. I guess I understand why, though.

Haha exactly. Good news are that they certainly know the problem they've caused with this sh*t update.

It's a matter of time now, and I hope that won't take too long

Under Win 7  - it seems possible to get around the auto restart of MBAMService by going into Local Services (via control panel-Admin Tools) and Disable the MBAM Service startup (double click the MBAMservice entry to get submenu).

As mentioned before, I'm running Win Defender until someone gets busy with a fix - but MBAM v3.3.1-2183 will not be running again on my PC or my partners. These (problems in general) are happening way too often on these updates. Also had been getting the "Real-Time Protection off" warning - module is also impossible to restart.

Same problem here, Malwarebytes rendering my computer unusable. Decided to disable the Malwarebytes Service till a fix is pushed out. Here is what I did:

01. Press the Windows+R keys to open the Run dialog
02. type  services.msc  to launch the services interface
03. Scroll down till you find "Malwarebytes Service",
right click on Malwarebytes Service and select  "Properties"
05. On "Startup type:" select "Disabled"
06. Click on "OK"
07. Restart your computer
