I don't know what a "blanket of ignorance" is (maybe like a "cloak of invisibility"?), but I find it difficult to believe that INDIVIDUAL users (i.e., people with one or two PCs) can't do what I did.

Wondered why the fan on my windows laptop was blowing full speed the whole time - checked on task manager and constant >80% CPU usage (6th gen i7 with 512 GB SSD, 12GB RAM) from MBAM

Had to uninstall - I'm paying for premium too. No wonder the 'support' section of the website is 'under maintenance'. 

When it's back up I'll be looking for a quick fix or a quick refund of the 10 months I have left.

The memory problem seems to be tied to the "Web protection" option in Real-time protection.

If I enable that I get a "error connecting to license server" at about 6GB memory usage.

Do you realize that the software requirements for MalwareBytes do not list Windows Server as a supported OS?  It's only for Windows client.

I am having the exact same issue on two desktops -- one with Windows 10 Pro and one with Windows 10 Home.  Both suddenly started chewing up huge amounts of memory.  Solution was to disable the Malwarebyes Service and end the task in Task Manager.

Its all good and dandy for those of you who are saying "oh whats the fuss about it, just disable the process" etc etc. 

That doesnt solve the issue. I and many other i suspect lost data because of this. I wasnt at my workstation when it crashed so i couldnt prevent it.

Yes. All is fine as long as I leave it disabled.

Same issue here exactly. - now uninstalled (and also a premium user). Will come back if / when this gets fixed or just ask for money back as this si currently not fit for purpose.

Having trouble 1. scanning for updates

I recently changed certain settings in my broadband modem and this began happening right after that today. So I thought I might have messed up something but then I see it's still happening and everyone else are also having the same problem, I already crashed 2 times due to 100% memory usage, I got a windows popup saying I'm missing memory space and that I should shut down the computer, and then the system freezes and I have to manually shut down my computer. I have 16GB of RAM and I never had this issue before today. MB also keeps turning Real-Time Protection off every 10 minutes after restarting MB, I can't turn it back on, so I keep shutting down MB and restarting in order to not crash, but then it reaches 100% memory usage again and turns off Real-Time Protection again... I'm currently waiting for a solution from the staff. But it's weird because this began happening after I changed certain settings withing my router for my network in terms of more security for my own network. It began happening right after that for me. 

 

I also have GlassWire turned on, it alerts that my "ARP table content changed". It said this 10 times already after I changed router settings. It doesn't say it anymore though. But I was wondering why my MAC address kept on changing for some reason. I have heard of "MAC address spoofing" or "ARP spoofing" I think where a middle-man hacker is doing something malicious to your system. I hope this is not the case and I don't think it is. But all of this began happening after I changed settings within my router. So I don't know. I'm just waiting for a fix now at least so that MB doesn't use up all memory all the time and crash my computer.

Malwarebytes is using up all of my 16GB of ram.  Changed service to manual and rebooted.  New problem as of today.  Malwarebytes having an issue?  Duh, ya think?

Same here.  So glad I read this forum!!  I now know it isn't my computer why I got the memory low and right now I am operating in safemode.  What does Malwarebytes have to say about all of this?

Blanket of ignorance: i.e. people with this problem didn't think of of trying your fix. I'm saying people tried that and it didn't help. Your fix doesn't work for everyone. Not all PC's are alike (lol). I don't know how to spell it out anymore than I just did.

Been having the same problem, uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of times and can't connect to the license server right now. Just kinda joining the forum to keep up on updates to the problem.
