Spoiler

If you haven't done so already, please run these two tools and then attach the logs in your next reply:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)
    1. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
    2. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
    3. Press the "Scan" button
    4. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
      • Leave the log files in the current location, they will be automatically collected by mb-check once you complete the next set of instructions
  • MB-Check
    1. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
    2. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, press "Enter" to accept the EULA then click "OK"
    3. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
      • This file will include the FRST logs generated from the previous set of instructions
      • Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

One of our experts will be able to assist you shortly.

Today a 3.3.2 install was prompted to update, the update removed 3.3.2 and now malwarebytes is no longer installed.

Can you please get the build from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb3

Run the installer

Please let us know if that solves the issue if it does not please post the logs from the automated reply.

Thanks.

3.3.2 was never available from our website for download, that version is actually a business only version for our Endpoint Protection Customers.

No you are wrong, I downloaded it from your main page for home users. I do not have anyway to download a version for Endpoint Protection.

The quality of this product is getting to a point of embarrassing, wrong versions on your site, locking systems up (RAM), cant licence server, cant turn on Web protection.

I run a PC repair business!!, this is becoming a joke.

As @Spinner pointed out, that's version 3.2.2, not 3.3.2 which you originally posted about. 3.3.1 is the latest.

Looks like everyone got a little confused.

Not strange, you are both missing the error in the version number up top. It reads 3.2.2

So OT does not have 3.3.2

Nice catch :) .  Right you are, it's version 3.2..2, not 3.3.2.

As indicated above, the version you have is an older build, version 3.2.2, not a newer 3.3.2 so yes, the latest home version build is still 3.3.1.

I am amazed by the amount of people who deinstalled the program, it was not that hard to kill the problem, in MB options, switched off Self Protection and 'starting with windows', rebooted and fixed was the immediate problem. Today checked forum and read there was a fix, restarted MB, forced a scan to get the update, paused scan, switched back on Self Protect and start with windows, Reboot.

Done

Hehe, I ran the uninstaller, killed the service via Task Manager (so the uninstall could complete), then just reinstalled and updated once the fix was published.  Perhaps not as clean of a solution as the one you describe, but I didn't have to reboot my system either ;) .

Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The weekend didn't help. I am sure it will get resolved. The thing I hope for is that will

point them to a cure for many of the problems posted including the version numbers.

It did not stop all hands from being on deck to assist users.:) The issue now is to fix the fallout and be ready for Monday for the offices that leave their computers on all the time and closed on the weekend to come in to frozen computers. It is possible though that when they do the hard shutdown and the computer restarts and reaches out for an update the fixed one will auto load with no issue.;) Every one else who turned the computers on for the first time after the new database was released it would be like nothing happened.
