So I seem to be having the same problem as this person, but I can't seem to get it fixed.

I did a fresh download and attempt to install the newest version of Malwarebytes but it keeps just popping up a restart request upon running. If the computer restarts, it continues to try to install and then pops up another restart request window.

I tried to download and run the mb-clean tool and every time I run it, it just generates a text file that says "malwarebytes is not currently installed on your computer" or something to that effect.

I've tried going into my registry to find any leftover traces of an old malwarebytes install to remove but cant find anything except for random temp files.

I think I might have gotten something malicious that is stopping this file from being able to run. Please help? Thanks.

You have an old compromised version of Java on the computer. I would highly recommend that you uninstall all versions of Java and if possible try to use your computer without Java. If you do need it then keep it up to date at all times https://java.com

You're using uTorrent on this system which though it has some legal use, the vast majority of P2P file sharing is illegal in all industrialized nations and conviction though rare does allow for heavy fines and legal actions. It also leaves your computer open to malware threats that can be potentially harder to detect. I would recommend you reconsider and remove P2P software from the computer.

Please download the attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop.
NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.

Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach or post it to your next reply.

Note: If the tool warned you about an outdated version please download and run the updated version.

This issue has been resolved via private message.

For any future googlers, it was a combination of running the Malwarebytes clean tool, a rootkit remover, an adware remover, uninstalling Java completely, and a system restore (though that may have been unneccesary)

Thank you so much Ron! Really great support and aid provided. I really appreciate the assistance.
