Possible infection?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I am sorry I have just posted but this computer is being used by my brother. He plays a lot of games, etc.. I do want to keep this computer clean though because I payed for it and I also use it. I am not sure what type of infection I have but I think I might have one. Not 100% sure. Here are my logs, thanks for helping!

Sincerely, Paul.

Hello aren3000 and welcome to Malwarebytes,

I do not see any obvious Malware or Infection in the FRST logs. I do note however you have 2 full security suites active and running. Whilst Malwarebytes will work satisfactorily alongside either McAfee and Norton will not work well together, they will cause major issues for your system.

Removal tool for McAfee - http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Removal tool for Norton -  https://www.techspot.com/downloads/1437-norton-removal-tool-symnrt.html

Let me know which security suite you have removed, after run FRST again, post the fresh logs and i`ll check for any remnants of the removed security suite.

Next,

Run FRST one more time, ensure all boxes are checkmarked under "Whitelist" but only Addition.txt under "Optional scan" Select scan, when done post the new logs. "FRST.txt" and "Addition.txt"

Thanks,

Kevin...

Logs look good, nothing at all to be concerned about. Run the following to remove FRST...

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

Or use the following if first link is down:

"Delfix link mirror"

If your security program alerts to Delfix either, accept the alert or turn your security off.

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following item is the only one checked:

  • Remove disinfection tools <----- this will remove tools we have used and itself.

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Any remnant files/logs from tools we have used can be deleted…
