real-time protection turning off

Recommended Posts

@akize, Hello and Welcome!

I see you are running MB in compatibility mode. Please remove those settings. Then restart your computer.

  1. Go to the folder C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\
  2. Find the file mbam.exe and right click on it and choose Properties
  3. In the window that pops up click on Compatibility Tab
  4. Remove any changes there that don't match my picture below and click OK

Once you done that, reboot your computer and let us know if its working properly

Hey!

Let us get a clean install of the current version. 3.3.1

We have another tool called MB-Clean which will automate the whole process for you.

The clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install.

Tool can be found at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean

1. After downloading the tool run the tool.

2. The tool will automatically clean up the older possibly damaged installation and will ask you for a restart.

3. Restart your system and then the MB-Clean tool will prompt you to re-install the latest product.

4. Click on "Yes" to reinstall MB 3.×.

5. Now you will have the latest product installed.  Report back please.

Last night i was on my computer and it just restarted and installing updates, which is not scheduled to do this while im on it. i cant find a way to turn off automatic updates.  After that my real time protection is off again and it wont work anymore.  i just did the frst scan and the mb clean again and it still will not turn on real time protection.  i have scanned to see if i have a  virus or malware and it comes back fine.  not sure what to do. i have windows 10 version 1709

Welcome to Win 10, You need to set active hours to prevent that. https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2017/03/20/windows-10-tip-set-active-hours-pc-wont-restart-youre-working/

The clean install would have fixed any issues with that.

Personally, I am not a fan of Avast, Have sen assorted issues with Win 10. But everyone has a choice, mine is in my signature.

I would suggest doing the following just in case it was Avast interfering.
