Hi. Since the last Win10-update the Web-protection is turned off but when I try and turn it back on it just turns itself back off. The program also alerts for this problem.

Any idea to solve this ? Hope you can help me. See the figure below. Best regards/HO

Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues....

  1. FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs
  2. Download FRST and save it to your desktop. Tell any program that blocks it to ignore or allow. It IS SAFE. It contains no info that can identify or harm you.
  3. NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  4. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  5. Press the "Scan" button
  6. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you
  7. NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log
  8. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  9. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK"

Hello @Ytter

Can you please get the build from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb3

Run the installer on top of your existing product. You don't need to uninstall anything.

Please let us know if that solves the issue

Thank you.

Thanks a lot to you nikhils. After I run this installer everything works perfect. Great result. Thanks once again ! Best regards from Ytter!

@Ytter

Could you try adding Malwarebytes to exclusions in Norton and perform a reboot.

List of exclusions to set

Thanks for this tip. I have search in Norton but could not find where to put this exlusions. Anyhow friend nikhils served me an update link and now the program works properly again. Best regards Ytter.

Thanks to the op and to the support staff who gave the download link. I've been using Malwarebytes for quite a while now and it was only in the last few days that I abruptly started having the same problem. Notifications that the web protection was off suddenly kept popping up but but every time I tried to turn the protection on, it just turned itself back off again. Yes, I had the very latest build. No, I don't use Norton - just Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. The re-install seems to have solved the problem though. My web protection is back on so now let's just hope it stays that way.  :)
