I've been having issues with my pc.  Lately my webpages aren't encrypted and I'm getting warnings of my information not being secure and I've reported it through Microsoft feedback hub. (See pic 1)  I've also not been able to install any other anti-virus software or browsers until today when I was able to install MB.  After installation I was alerted I wasn't fully protected bc I didn't have real time protection on my web browser and any attempt to turn it on and the button would automatically flick off again.  Attempts to open a new browser window produced the gray screen you see in (pic 3) followed by the screen slowly loading with a lock depicting what I would believe to be a secure browser (something I havenet seen in a long while) and immediately MB throws up the error message it's stopped working (picture 4) and it stops working and restarts (pic 2).

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues....

  1. FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs
  2. Download FRST and save it to your desktop. Tell any program that blocks it to ignore or allow. It IS SAFE. It contains no info that can identify or harm you.
  3. NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  4. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  5. Press the "Scan" button
  6. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you
  7. NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log
  8. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  9. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK"
  10. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
  11. Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

I hope these are the correct ones?

Let us get a clean install of the current version. 3.3.1

We have another tool called MB-Clean which will automate the whole process for you.

Tool can be found at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean

1. After downloading the tool run the tool.

2. The tool will automatically clean up the older possibly damaged installation and will ask you for a restart.

3. Restart your system and then the MB-Clean tool will prompt you to re-install the latest product.

4. Click on "Yes" to reinstall MB 3.×.

5. Now you will have the latest product installed. If it does not offer the new install after the reboot you can download and install from here.

https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mb3

Please let me know if you are still seeing issues after the latest product install.

Yes still having issues, unfortunately.  I was able to install Chrome but then this... and for whatever reason I pulled a services list .txt thinking it may help shed some light on this nonsense and here it is.

Again, thank you so much for your time.  I really appreciate it.

It's scanning now.  When I booted to safe with networking I lost my wireless connection and had to plug in, MB was missing - went through steps and when I used MBclean the file never appeared on my desktop so I started again.  Now it's scanning but with minimum protections (not actively, no malware etc etc.) but I was able to click on scan for rootkits.

I went to my devices to see why my wireless newtork wasn't available to me nor any others and discovered my card was disabled.  But there was a "Generic PnP Monitor" listed with "drive error"  - so while waiting on the scan I opened my device list and found 6 pages of screenshots worth of devices listed O_o

There's also one listed with a name of my son's initials and a game he plays frequently.  (AJP Knack) Very odd and extremely unnerving.  A device? Not a game system.  So, sorry for the picture book attached but again I felt like it may help for you to see the list I'm seeing.

Will be back with the scan when it's completed, so far its been going for 30 minutes and not producing much.
