Windows Defender "sees" MB as not running after last update

Recommended Posts

I'm running W10PRO with latest patches (for Meltdown/Spectre).

After the restart, now Windows Defender complains about MalwareBytes and says that it's not running (text is in italian, sorry):

but MalwareBytes is running and up-to-date (I hope! no update if I do the "update now" manually):

any ideas?

I'm also running Avast Premier but didn't found any issue with Windows Defender.

in Control Panel -> System and Security -> Security and Maintenance everything is "Ok", but when I clink on the link in the red box:

a window pops up saying that MalwareBytes is "Disabled" (and all the below buttons are disabled).

Prior to the latest Windows Update (http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4056892) I never had this issue (and I never saw that window in the Control Panel).

ok, here the logs.

PS: I never had to "exclude" MB files in Avast since 2014 when I installed both programs on my PC, so I didn't change anything this time. After another shutdown -> power on, everything looks still fine. Windows Defender is "all green", MB is "active" and "all green", etc. I don't know why after the KB4056892 for two days Windows Defender was complaining about MB not being active.
