"Scan Registry" question of threat scanner

Does the "Scan Registry" part of Malwarebytes threat scanner do anything? Reason I ask is every time I run a scan (Threat or custom, doesn't matter), the process seems to skip over the Scan Registry process really fast. Every other process (Scan Memory, Scan Startup Files, etc.) takes anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or so, but Scan Registry finishes in what seems like 0.001 seconds. Not sure if it's actually doing anything.

Yes all the items actually scan something... in this case what is happening, is some of the items are already being scanned even though it has not reached that point in the checking options, so when if finally gets there its usually done with the registry section.

Yes, I hadn't thought about it scanning the registry earlier than the GUI indicated. Thanks.

Yep, we do a lot of scans every second, and updating the UI with each individual item would actually dramatically slow down your scan. As such, we only update at a specific interval, so the GUI may not entirely match what is exactly being done at that time.
