Moving to an SSD

Recommended Posts

Hi so I have recently gotten an SSD for my PC which I'm very happy about. However a thing I'm concerned about is that I bought Malware bytes physically back in the summer and I still have the code and everything I can use up to three times, however my concern is that I have already used it twice for my two PC's. When I upgrade my SSD tomorrow I'm going to freshly install Windows 10 and start anew, but if I use the code again for my Malwarebytes will that count as the third time for the code or will it be recognized as the same computer. The PC I'm putting the SSD in, is an gaming computer.

Use a software such as Acronis True Image or  CloneZilla ( feee ) and clone the old spindle drive to the new SSD.

If the new SSD is smaller than the spindle drive , you may have to create an image on an external drive and then restore that image on the SSD.

When you clone a hard disk, everything stays the same.  For example if I have a 320GB drive with 20GB free and clone it to a 500 GB drive, you will now have a system with a 500GB drive with 220GB free.

This concept is application non-specific.  The cloned drive will inherit ALL software, user profiles, applications and software and user settings.
