questions for a potential customer?

Recommended Posts

Hi

i tried to get answers via the mb website but i got a reply from a 3rd party vendor cleverbridge cust service?  maybe you guys can help?

ive been trying the free basic trial for some time. i currently am running kaspersky internet protection but am highly disappointed with it. i would like to know a couple things if i may?
1- price for 2 years on one machine to upgrade from trial to full protection? would i pay for a license key? or do i have to download something?

2- does malwarebytes play nice with windows defender (windows 7) firewall? or does it come with its own like kaspersky that doesnt like anyone elses firewall running with it?

3- i use a vpn with its own firewall service  (windscribe). will malwarebytes play nice with windscribe? or will it conflict?

4- ive heard malwarebytes services can be resource hogs in windows 7.. is this accurate?

if you could offer me some answers it would help me greatly to make a decision... thanks.

Good morning Zorak, hopefully the answers below take care of your questions:

  1. The current price for a two year subscription for one machine is $59.99. You can purchase a license key from https://malwarebytes.com or by clicking the Upgrade to Premium button in your Malwarebytes installation. You will get a key to put in your installation, no need to download/install anything else.
  2. Malwarebytes and Windows Defender do get along. Some users have had to add mutual exclusions (https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1123) but they shouldn't be required for most users.
  3. Malwarebytes shouldn't have any issues with your VPN service. If you're using the trial and haven't had issues, you should be good to go!
  4. By most reports, Malwarebytes uses around 200MB of resources on a computer while "idle" (active protections are still running). When running a scan, it can take up more resources.
