Hi and welcome to the forums.

Please read the following link in our forum. Specifically issues 1, 2 & 3. These issues also directly relate to updating, as well as many Protection Module errors and start up issues. This also addresses instances where the program scans and 'disappears'(Trend Micro issue). Please exclude Issue 8 as a solution.

Adding the files listed applies to all security software installed and your firewall too.
