Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP

The test in the video below:

I have a question.

If "Disable Internet Explorer VB scripting" is active, there is intervention.

If it is deactivated no.

Why?

TH.

Hi Sampei_Nihira,

There is a security vulnerability in VBscript engine which could allow a malicious attacker to perform a remote code execution on a user's machine if exploited. You can find more information on it from this link below.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/security-updates/SecurityBulletins/2016/ms16-003

We recommend that you enable the setting in MBAE which checks and disables VBScript execution and keeps you protected against this vulnerability. This is a blanket protection which blocks all VBScript execution. The website you are trying to access will still be loaded fine, only the VBScript trying to execute is blocked.

Thanks.

Hi Sampei_Nihira, If you turn off that protection, you chose to take the risk and hence, MBAE will not intervene. By default, we recommend having that setting turned on to be protected against malicious attacks through VBScript execution. Thanks.
