Adware.Elex.ShrtCln keep coming back.

Malwarebyte does not kill those, they keep coming back, i tried to find a solution and the only thing i did not try left is ask for help here. I did the 3 steps required, waiting for your help.

I did all the things on that topic, it doesn't work in my case, but however i just removed chrome and it's not coming back anymore, anyway remove chrome should be a solution for someone, hope this help.

Hi Aura I did reinstall Chrome, Malwarebytes found nothing now, but i still have a problem that everytime i open chrome it gives me a start page at http://www.apusx.com/, only on chrome, after new install, all old data on chrome deleled but that still remain

Alright. Can you give me a screenshot of your Google Chrome settings? The New Tab, Search Engines and On startup sections? Basically the sections shown in the screenshots in the 2nd post of the thread pondus linked you at the beginning.

I believe camtheman1807 have the same issue like me, i got this when i download Coretemp from the page www.alcpu.com , it gave me a bunch of adware.elex.shrtcln, which i finally get rig off by remove chrome and scan with Malwarebyte, then after that i reinstall Chrome and found this Apusx page still remain, reset brower to default, Reset sync to clear data from the server, nothing work, and nothing on the target line in shortcut to delele.

Can you click on "Manage search engines" and give me a screenshot of that section as well?

Also, under the "On startup" section, if you select "Open a specific page or set of pages" (last option), do any websites shows up underneath it?

No websites underneath it, weird that nothing strange showed anywhere, extentions clean too, control panel found nothing either. this happened to only chrome btw.

In the "Show home button" (New Tab page) section, can you check the second radio button, erase everything (the Google website), then open Google Chrome and see if you still get the ALCPU.com webpage.

Sigh, i'm giving up on this, i just erase it and it still get that webpage, i'm sending this problem to chome support too, hope they can release a new update to fix it, btw it doesn't affect my PC performance i think, it just really annoying. Thanks for your help Aura, you re so kind to help me.
