Why was my ip banned from these forums?

Recommended Posts

As of friday, when I try to navigate to https://forums.malwarebytes.com I get the following message

ERROR

The request could not be satisfied.

Request blocked.

Generated by cloudfront (CloudFront)

I am able to get around this error by using a proxy ip address. I first noticed the problem after coming here to resolve a malware issue, so I am worried that my ip is being blocked because my comp is infected with malicious script

I did some testing and discovered that I get the same error message on other websites that I've never been to before, such as  https://forums.soompi.com/en and https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/

What these 3 sites have in common is that they are all powered by invision community and they all seemingly use of cloudfront. I do not know how it relates to me

EDIT: I am suddenly able to get on forums.soompi.com/en, but not the other two. This is strange.

If your IP sometimes changes you can be given an IP that somebody else was recently using (possibly unwittingly) to do something nasty, such as, for instance, taking part in a DDoS attack. Some services try and block such IPs.

Could that be the explanation?
