Adwcleaner 7.0.5.0 being blocked

Hello,

I tried to run an older ADWcleaner earlier and told me to download the latest one, version 7.0.5.0.

But whenever I try to run it windows is blocking me from running it, and I was able to run it once where windows did not ask me UAC for it, the thing where I have to say yes or no to let it run while normally ADWcleaner always makes UAC ask me that.

Is something wrong with this version, or did I download a bad version?

Hello Jeji,

This is indeed normal behavior as AdwCleaner needs administrator privileges to run and do its job. As such, Windows will ask if you are intentionally running the program.  You will see this sort of behavior by Windows for any program icon that has the little blue and yellow Windows Security Shield embedded in it.
