malwarebytes 3.3.1.2183 will not launch

My free copy had been running without a hitch since installation since it came out, but now will only show the loading circle for a few seconds and then - nothing.  I have uninstalled twice and reinstalled without effect.  I am using Windows 10 (64 bit) Home Edition with all current updates.

Files from my run of FRST.  I did it in Safe Mode as it would not run in regular.  Again I have Windows 10 up to date and my problem is that Malwarebytes - free will no longer run.  The loading circle appears, but then nothing else happens.

Solved this myself by restarting Windows 10 in Safe mode.  Then ran Malwarebytes and it ran this time and found root kit malware.  Restarted again into Normal mode and the system and Malwarebytes are functioning normally.  Also note that during this time Microsoft defender kept finding and removing <Trojan:HTML/Brocoiner!rfn> from the system without effect, prompting Error code 0x80508023 which upon research means it apparently couldn't find anything to remove?  So it could find a problem, but not when it tried to fix it?
