Please stop installing 3rd party software on user's computers. I fully understand one wants to make money but there have been thousands of programmers for many years that have never resorted to adding 3rd party software to their programs. If you really have to then set it to Decline by default. Setting it to Accept as the default will install if on many users computers that ignore all these EULA alerts thinking it's one from BurnAware. You can download a full version of BurnAware Free or evaluation versions of BurnAware Premium / Professional and try it for 10 days. I'll remove my post later, but was having a small discussion on how in the older days of computing there were so many people writing software that was 100% free, no add-ons. They wrote it simply to either learn, or out of the goodness of their heart. There are still many programs one can find on the PC like that but not as many as before. Another one is the phones now days. I'm sure there must be some free non Ad supported apps in the Google Play or Apps Store but I can't find them. There are well over a million apps to download and all of them that I try or look at for free come with Ad support. Some worse than others but none that I can find without that are good apps. In my opinion, having the download for the non-bundled version in normal text at the bottom of the page (and embedded in a somewhat lengthy paragraph of unrelated text dealing with upgrades/updates) below the primary download area which itself uses a series of large green "Download" buttons is just as bad as setting the installer to "Accept" by default for the very same reason that's a bad idea because most visitors will not read that text at the bottom of the page (or at least not all of it to the point where it talks about the version which doesn't include 3rd party apps) and will thus most likely end up with the bundled installer with "Accept" as the default choice and thus end up with PUPs on their systems. While this is only my opinion, and not necessarily that of Malwarebytes, I personally feel that such practices are a bit misleading at best (which can be proven if the site owner looks at their metrics for the links most frequently clicked to download their product vs the number of users who contact them for assistance in removing and/or complaints about these "free gifts" included in the default installer as I fully expect a pattern will emerge that validates my belief) and downright shady at worst. I know it's a common practice, but I'm with Ron. I really don't like this practice of bundling third party apps and never have. I know it's hard to make money on the web these days, especially with so many users running ad blockers and whatnot, but bundling stuff and obscuring the "clean" downloads (if one is even offered) isn't something that inspires trust in my opinion because once a user/customer realizes that your application was the source of these PUPs they hadn't intended to install on their system you (you being the software vendor, not actually you ) are the one they will blame and it's a hard thing to earn back trust once it has been lost. I'd wager the cost of that is greater than any lost potential revenue from PUP app paid conversions (assuming they must purchase the third party apps' full versions for the original/first party software vendor to get paid; if it's a pay-per-click/pay-per-install affiliate program then they get paid either way, but such options are becoming rare now since the bad guys have stared using Trojans, worms and rootkits to install/spread/protect PUPs over the past few years with greater frequency as a means of income [ref. Would REALLY be nice to be able to just download an awesome game or app that has ZERO ads or spam on it so you don't have to try and block it.
