No advice for Chrome Recurring PUPs has worked thus far...

I tried the advice posted for clearing secured preferences and it isn't working. The method I used is here:https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/214325-chrome-secure-preferences-detection-always-comes-back/

I really don't want to have to delete every stitch of Chrome from my computer to fix the problem (but that is seeming like my only alternative).

My Main Question: I did read in one forum here that the problem is being worked on. Is there any progress with comprehensively addressing this issue on the Malwarebytes developer/company end?  

This is a busy time of year for me and I'm just a home user...it's the busiest time of year for me at work (which relies on my PC), and at home (it's Thanksgiving Day in the US, and I am the cook...no rest for the weary). So I truly don't have the time right now to get into my particular problem and I suspect there are many like me who, for various reasons, are waiting for an overall fix. I

A fix is being working on, but there are no ETA as to when it'll be released. So your best bet is to follow the instructions in the guide you already saw.
