Malwarebytes stopped working on Windows 10 PRO 64.bit

My Malewarebytes stopped working on my Windows 10 PRO - it shows it is stuck in "starting" and that is it.

I looked at the event viewer to see if there are any errors and I do not see any. I am not able to find any log files for Malewarebytes v3 anywhere so I can get an idea what is wrong.

The Services shows it is "starting" and I am not able to stop or start it. I have restarted my system several times and shutdown and then startup again, all no avail.

Please help me to see what is causing it.   Thanks in Advance

Yes, I just tried it and it works. But I do know what will happen if I reboot - shutdown and startup and/or put the computer to sleep to see if it still starts successfully.

I will let you know. Has all these scenarios been tested?  My profession is Senior Software QA Engineer recently with HPE ArcSight in testing security applications.  So I am wondering if this has been fully tested manually - not by automation. Because the real user experience will be manual testing of the application on all platform using a platform matrix to make sure you have covered all.   Thanks in Advance -- I will let you know...

If it happens again get us the following logs.


  1. FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs
  2. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
    NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  3. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  4. Press the "Scan" button
  5. This will product two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
    NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you
  6. NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log
  7. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  8. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK"
  9. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
  10. Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area
