geosetter_setup.exe false labeled as rogue installer?

Malware today just labeled a file on my computer that has been there for a while now as a rogue installer. Here are the details:

File: geosetter_setup.exe

Type: Rogue.Installer

Is this legit or a false positive? This file is the installation program for Geosetter that I installed a while ago and have been using with no problems that I'm aware of. Does anyone have any more info on why this is considered malware?

Thanks!

Thank you for responding! Here is a link to the file (I put it under my personal home page because the file, even zipped, is too large to upload via your forum).

http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billb/geosetter_setup.zip

Let me know if you need any more information and thanks again!

Oh, and in case you want the URL where I got the original file, it was either here

http://www.geosetter.de/en/

or

here

http://download.cnet.com/GeoSetter/3000-12...4-10784319.html

I don't remember which one but I do remember looking at both of those websites and using one of them to download the file.

However, I think the version that I'm asking about (which I provided a link to via http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billb/geosetter_setup.zip) is older than the versions you can get at either of those locations. Thanks again!

I fixed one thing , let me know if I got it .

I will be looking into this further if this is not resolved .

I think your fix worked. Specifically, I removed the file from Malwarebyte's Ignore list (when it first flagged this file I put it on Malwarebyte's Ignore List), and then updated the software (which presumably downloaded your fix), and then scanned the folder in which the geosetter_setup.exe file was located. It didn't find any malware this time. I'll run a full scan tonight just to be sure.

Thanks again for your help and a great piece of software!
