Possible Ransomware attack

It would appear that either I'm under attack by some kind of Malware/Ransomware, or my hard drive is starting to die. Been noticing that I'm unable to save new files to my boot drive, and files I've recently downloaded are now "corrupted."

Running Windows 8.1 64-bit, with MalwareBytes Premium. The real-time and web protection modules have stopped for some reason and I am unable to get them to start again.
