"PUP.Optional.Spigot" persists

Recommended Posts

Had the same problem and solved it by going into chrome and turning sync off under settings.  Also had to remove  all the search engines from the setting menu that were NOT search engines.  Trying to figure out how to update the settings on the google site so I can turn sync back on.

Try uninstalling chrome, running malwarebytes and then rebooting.  Run malwarebyes again,  the PUP should be gone if that was the problem.
