Malwarebytes new update Web Protection won't turn on

Recommended Posts

After installing this new update this morning I got the notification pop up that Real Time Protection wasn't turned on so I opened Malwarebytes settings and saw that Web Protection was not turned on. I try to turn it on by toggling the button but it would not turn on. It would say starting then go back to off. Why does this happen every update? Where something turns off automatically, if its not Web Protection, its Malware Protection or Ransomware Protection.

I already did the log steps and here they are

Your original log did not have any set up logs for mb3.  This would have been created when you upgraded from 3.2.2 to 3.3.1

You can check it here:

1. Open run and type %temp%

2. See if there are any logs with the test setup.

If you find it please post it here.

Thank you.

Ok I typed in %temp% on run and I see one txt file there MBAMSERVICE is that what you need?

Hello @mrbuttons

The set up log would look something like this : Setup Log 2017-11-08 #001

Also by any chance did you experience a crash on your system ?

The I don't have any setup logs. Crash on my system I don't think so. What happened was I woke up on early morning and my laptop was still on but I lost internet. I tried reconnecting and it won't reconnect so I shut down my laptop and turned it on once again, then I reconnected to the internet and saw the pop up Malwarebytes was out of date so I updated it and then this problem started to occur.

Ok got it.

We will need a few things from you to help analyze what exactly caused this issue.

1. Can you please use the link below and collect the event logs for us. Please remember to save the logs in the .txt (Text) format.

2. Right click on the Malwarebytes system tray icon and select "Quit Malwarebytes". After a few minutes double click on the Malwarebytes desktop icon to start the service again.

3. After that please let us know if you are still seeing issues with the Web-Protection not loading.

Thank you.
