Cannot uninstall, update or remove 2029 to 3031.

To uninstall, try MB-clean in safe mode.

You have quite a bit of Group Policies on this computer, it could be possible that one of those is causing this issue.

You may have to try the mb-clean in safe mode.

Let's try this first.... (Malwarebytes clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install)

1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-clean tool you will be asked to reboot. Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES (it will download the latest version) or you can download the latest version manually (currently v3.3.1.2183 CU 1.0.236) to re-install from HERE)
2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (after you run all the tools requested, all the logs will be combined into one log file named: mb-check-results.zip located on your Desktop (which will include the FRST logs inside the zip file))

I'll try removing in safe mode and try again.

Problem is that I seeing the same error on multiple machines when trying to upgrade.

Is this in a work environment?  Did you or and admin put all those Group Policies on the computer?

It is in a work environment, but no group policies entered. I'll have to look at the logs to see what you are talking about.

Uninstalling in Safe Mode worked, but a pain to do.

Have seen the issue on multiple sites with multiple machines, at least it can be done.  Had similar problems before with other V3 updates. This particular store has 6 machines and had to update 4 of them in safe mode.

Just an update to all of this, we have 172 machines with MBAM installed over 80ish sites.  Mix of Win 10 and 7.

151 of them had to be updated in safe mode.

Those group policies you see are from Foolish IT's CryptoPrevent program that is also installed on all of them
