After the uninstallation, I used malwarebytes to scan for malware. Then I quarantined and deleted the PUP. I decided to use Malwarebytes to scan for the PUP a second time. Malwarebytes found the PUP again. In other words, in my case, the PUP did not use Google Chrome because Google Chrome did not exist on my computer. Yet everytime I deleted the PUP, it came back! The update to Malwarebytes was installed yesterday with the same results. I think there may be several versions of this PUP. I will try to follow your instructions. dbolt Posted November 12, 2017 ID:1181881 Share Posted November 12, 2017 The PUPs MWB finds on my PC are in a file called Web Data that is created by Chrome in ..\Google\Chrome\User data\Default when Chrome loads. Delete this file and don't load Chrome, no PUPs detected.

Brunoschca Posted November 13, 2017 ID:1182299 Share Posted November 13, 2017 I tried the solution - easy and works like a charm + you only have to apply it on one computer as Chrome syncs your settings (provided you use the same Chrome user between your machines).
