This is most likely the case. Playing a movie, streaming video and/or YouTube video's require much CPU activity and thus stretching the ability to keep the CPU cool. If the CPU runs too hot, the system can automatically shutdown to prevent a Thermal Runaway condition. Please download a hardware monitoring tool, HWMonitor, by CPUID. You can then run the utility and see what the quiescent CPU temperature is and then play the content and you will see the CPU temperature rise. The way to mitigate Thermal Runaway is to make sure there is proper system ventilation. The specifics of which are dependent upon what the undefined computer is. That is there are different methodologies for proper system ventilation on a Desktop PC vs. a Notebook PC. Edited November 9, 2017 by David H.
