How do I turn off Real-Time Protection?

Hi. I just upgraded to version 3.1.1.505.

I had been using version 1, I don't remember the exact decimals.

Anyway, I don't want Malwarebytes running in the background. I just want to manually run it every few months. 

So, is there is a way to turn off Real-Time Protection? I can't figure out how to turn it off.

Also, once Real-Time Protection is turned off, will that prevent Malwarebytes from running any processes in the background when the app itself is not running?

There are two ways you can turn it off. One is through the Malwarebytes menu bar icon, whose menu has a Stop Real-Time Protection item:

The second way to do it is to click the "On" link next to Real-Time Protection in the Dashboard within the Malwarebytes application:

Real-time protection cannot be turned out unless you either 1) are within the 30-day Premium trial that starts when you first install the software, or 2) have purchased Premium and activated the software with your license key.
