Def Updates bigger than normal

Recommended Posts

Over the past 2 days the def updates have been around 80MB in size. Today and yesterday this happened on my Dad's PC. They download twice in one day.
Is it normal to receive 160MB of def updates in one day?

Hello,

welcome here in our forum.:)

Well, i think that was not only the def´s update. That was a "major" update to a higher version.

Are you have purchased for Malwarebytes-Antimalware?

MBAM Pro was installed on this PC for years and it was upgraded to V3 Premium when it was available. As soon as 3.2 was available it was installed and it has been operational ever since.

The updates yesterday and today were automatic updates, not manual.

Hello, I think nothing unusual. Since the whole program will be updated. And not just only the "definitions" against malware. I think that's normal.

So you are saying that the Update Package and/or the Component Package are around 80MB ?

It is not unusual to have one or the other update twice in one day? But the defs are actually small as usual.

@vbarytskyy. Vlad, my dad said that he thinks the answer to my question has been answered in this thread....

It compares with our experience.

Tnx.

@Leo2 yes, your issue does sound similar to what you linked. We had a hiccup where users were getting full updates when they shouldn't. If you see the issue again, please provide the mentioned logs, but hopefully the issue should be resolved for you now
