Having issues with updates

I am having the same problem on Win 10 Pro. MB reports that the updates are not current, so I try to manually download updates. The update bar flashes for a half-second then stops, and it continues to say the updates are not current. So far MB support has told to me read the FAQ on installation, and to wait ten minutes for the update to complete. The problem continues after 2 clean re-installs. I wonder if MB has a problem with the Win 10 Fall update.
