problems with new version?

I just got a message that appeared to say that there was a new version of Malwarebytes ready to install. I installed what purports to be v. and ran a scan. The scan ran way too quickly (seconds) and the report said that the scan was canceled. Now I am worried that the original message was itself malware which I have now installed.

Just download the latest installer from : https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mb3

Run the installer on top of your existing product. No need to uninstall. Restart after.
