Not sure my Malwarebyte 3 is running correctly.  When I click on it I no longer get the screen giving me options to run scans and such.  Nothing comes up.  I uninstalled and reinstalled many times but still the same.  Is this normal?  When installing it appears to come up and when I click activate license the screen comes up for about 5 seconds and does not let me key in my key id.  Any help in the matter would be appreciated.

l'd like to get a look at what's going on with this machine.  These next scanners will not make any changes to your machine on its own, nor will it divulge any personal information that may compromise your security. Please allow if your AV blocks it.

·  Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs

  1. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
    Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  2. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  3. Press the "Scan" button
  4. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
    • Leave the log files in the current location, they will be automatically collected by mb-check once you complete the next set of instructions

·  Create and obtain an mb-check log

  1. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  2. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, press "Enter" to accept the EULA then click "OK" 
  3. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
    • This file will include the FRST logs generated from the previous set of instructions
    • Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Can you try the following, please?

  1. Download MBAR from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbar
  2. Run the downloaded program, and click Ok on the window that pops up to extract MBAR to the default directory on your desktop
  3. After extracting, MBAR should launch
  4. Click Next, and then click Update
  5. Once the update finishes, click Next
  6. Press Scan to scan your machine
  7. If anything is found, follow the instructions to clean up the infection
  8. Reboot and attempt to install MB3 again
