Malwarebytes 3.2.2 protection issues

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes used to be a reliable product. This past year since I have updated and re-paid for premium I have barely been able to use it. You can use it the first day you reinstall the product after you run the cleaning tool. But once several days pass you can no longer update the protection definitions. The settings change at will and the software does not finish scanning. Several times during scans my machine has shut down. If you are in the software development world the main feature your software has to have is reliability. Malwarebytes is no longer a reliable piece of software. It is apparent there are issues with this software that the current staff is unable to correct. I a going to run the tool for the fourth time to see if that is the charm to getting a piece of working software that I paid for back in April 2017. Wish me luck

Last night I cleaned and updated Malwarebytes for the fourth time since 5/5/2017.  It would not update the protection. After the reinstall malwarebytes started and was able to update. However I was not able to set Application Updates or notification . Nor was I able to set Malwarebytes notifications in Windows Tray nor show real time protection settings. Well you can set them but as soon as you leave the screen they go back to off. Plus last night I was unable to Ransomware protection. So unless they have a complete overhaul of the system I stand by by original assertion yesterday. Malwarebytes for some reason is no longer a reliable piece of software and will not be until they figure out all the systemic things that are wrong. There are many.

Hello and Welcome...

Why not give the team a chance to review some logs so that they can get a better look at your setup and see why its failing, perhaps they can find something on your system that is causing a conflict...

Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues....

  1. FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs
  2. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  3. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  4. Press the "Scan" button
  5. This will product two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you
  6. NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log
  7. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  8. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK"
  9. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
  10. Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Thank You,
