# Malwarebytes Memory Usage

## Recommended Posts

Since I formatted my PC and reinstalled malwarebytes, I noticed the MBAMService.exe is using around 240.00K memory. I found some really old posts (2016 and 2012) about this issue, but nothing really solving it.

How do I solve this issue and lower the memory usage?

Thank you

Is this during a scan, or all the time?

That is around normal.

I've never seen MBAM using so much memory. A constant memory use of 259mb doesn't look normal to me.

I've excluded these files and locations, but nothing changed.

The memory usage will vary depending on what MB3 may be doing at the time... especially if its performing a scan (or while your surfing the internet as its checking the pages you visit).

That being said, ~247MB is not really bad at all... (mine at the moment is ~375MB)... you have 8GB of ram so you really don't have much to worry about.... I would be more concerned with your chrome.exe which is taking up at least 538MB of ram according to your screenshot....

All that being said as well... the folks at Malwarebytes are always looking for ways to better optimize the use of memory.
