ChrisHaag Posted October 16, 2017 ID:1173062 Share Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) Malwarebytes 3.1 asked for an update to 3.2. I agreed. If I remember correctly the installation was "too fast". It asked for a reboot. After the reboot Malwarebytes was not running and the installation automatically started over again. The progress bar did not move and after few seconds the request for a reboot popped up. That happens with every reboot since then. I used MB clean, no change. The log files show that Malwarebytes is not installed. After I used MB clean I ran the Malwarebytes 3.2 (full) installer, which does the same: few seconds of non-moving progress bar, reboot, Groundhog Day. mb-check-results.zip Edited October 16, 2017 by ChrisHaag
Firefox Posted October 16, 2017 ID:1173085 Share Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) Hello and Welcome... This has happened to a few other folks... see if the below instructions help... Can you please try this. 1. Open your Registry and check for the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware_is1 2. Delete the whole key. 3. Now install the latest version of Malwarebytes 3.2.2 from here: ->>RIGHT HERE<<- Please let me know if that worked. ChrisHaag Posted October 16, 2017 Author ID:1173089 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Hi there, thanks for your help. I found that thread but did not expect it to work as for the thread opener the reg key did not exist. I'll give it a try and report back.
nikhils Posted October 16, 2017 ID:1173215 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Hello @ChrisHaag Can you please follow the forum post below and post the logs. We can figure out what is left behind that is causing this issue.
ChrisHaag Posted October 16, 2017 Author ID:1173241 Share Posted October 16, 2017 I already attached the logs to my first post... Is something missing?
nikhils Posted October 16, 2017 ID:1173250 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Sorry, I missed that part. Here is what I would do: 1. Open registry and navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{FBC350D5-10D0-4B9B-A9AC-5F2EA07770D5} 2. Delete that key completely. 3. Try to run the latest 3.2.2 installer. This should fix your issue.

Thanks anyway! You were close 13 minutes ago, nikhils said: 1. The installation ran through smoothly, Malwarebytes up and running in a minute, even the premium key was still there. Thanks a lot!

ChrisHaag Posted October 16, 2017 Author ID:1173259 Share Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) One more thing...there might be a relation to the Microsoft October Win 10 update. It checked the logs and the Windows update seemed to be downloading/installing at the same time. Edited October 16, 2017 by ChrisHaag Typo
