Exaile Posted August 6, 2017 ID:1150378 Share Posted August 6, 2017 Hi. Since the new 3.x version i've been experiencing this issue. It does not happen everytime but it does most of the time, whenever i need to reboot or shutdown my computer, with windows 10, i see the screen with the rolling balls saying shuting down or rebooting and then it just freezes and stays like that forever. I need to reset or keep the power button pressed. I assume this is because malwarebytes, i already tried to unninstall it multiple times and when i do that, those freezes no longer happen. I really like malwarebytes but i cant have my computer crashing like this everytime. I'll place my mbamservice log. The last time i had to shutdown the computer was in the 6AM events in the log. I even did it twice, and in one of them i closed the program before shutting down my computer, it still happened. MBAMSERVICE.LOG

Firefox Posted August 6, 2017 ID:1150452 Share Posted August 6, 2017 Hello and welcome! A clean re-install usually solves most issues. Let's try this first.... (Malwarebytes clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install) Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-claen tool you will be asked to reboot. Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES (it will download the latest version) or you can download the latest version manually (currently v3.1.2.1733 CU 1.0.160) to re-install from HERE) If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (after you run all the tools requested, all the logs will be combined into one log file named: mb-check-results.zip located on your Desktop (which will include the FRST logs inside the zip file)) NOTE: More info about the latest Malwarebytes 3.1.2 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions Please let us know how it goes. Thank You, Firefox

Thank You, Firefox I did the clean install but that did not fix it. Then i tried something else, i removed my license and with the software like that, with no premium features on, i had no issues and have rebooted several times now. Could this be a conflict between the real-time protections with something else? I also have windows defender with windows 10. I will do the other step you mentioned, just wanted to update with this new info.

Boardwatcher Posted October 12, 2017 ID:1172126 Share Posted October 12, 2017 Hi; I too, have this issue. I just installed Malwarebytes to test it for compatibility with my Windows 10 Pro Installation build 15063. After a clean installation, my Windows 10 also freezes up at LogOff, Shutdown, or Restart. I have to press the reset button to get the PC to reboot. I'm running Malwarebytes version 3.2.2.2029, a clean installation. Only AV is Windows Defender with all the MalwareBytes file and folder scan exceptions inserted as directed in this discussion. I've attempted to disable Exploit Protection, but this has not fixed the issue. Please advise

Porthos Posted October 12, 2017 ID:1172174 Share Posted October 12, 2017 @Boardwatcher Also get the following logs as well Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs Download FRST and save it to your desktopNote: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer Press the "Scan" button This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt Attach both of these logs to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the files to the attachment area
